Well here is the first of the instructionals I am going to be doing. I already know a few things I can improve upon, but I don't this is a terrible start so next week I will be frapsing all of our kills (and whatever we have left up this week) to go ahead and crank out some more of these. Any feedback will be appreciated!

So is it just text describing each ability, with no actual video? Or is my display screwing up and only showing the text?

EDIT: Ohhh, you explain all the abilities first, and then show the fight itself. Most instructional vids I've seen do the explaining while showing the fight. You're going to turn a lot of viewers off of your vid with such an actionless beginning, so you may want to explain that the action starts later, or something. I noticed that your combat text mod is crazy spammy, which may interfere with text-over-action type explanations, so I get why you did the text first method.

All in all, once you get through the text, I enjoyed the video immensely. With some more practice, you could really polish up your speech and be great at making these tutorial vids, Fuldo. I look forward to your next one, especially since I know almost nothing about how most of the fights in Ulduar work.

Yeah first thing I said on my warcraft movies is that my subsequent vids will explain the abilities as you see them...the reason I did it this way was that each phase has SO MUCH SHIT going on in it, yet the fight itself is short so I had to squeeze a ton of crap in there...other ones will be easier but I agree that I should have at least had a graphic in that black part at the beginning...my bad...just too lazy to re-render and re-upload to filefront, youtube, this site, and warcraftmovies...lol...was 6 hours of pure uploading yesterday.

Ouch. I wonder if there's a service that'll let you upload the file to one server, and then distribute it from there? That'd be really handy.

Can you include a Matrix-esque stop action sequence of people dodging the P3Wx2 laser beams and then possibly a sequence of DJ riding the red rocket? Also, one of you getting mauled by an assault bot would be great.

On Ignis you might want to redo the voice over. You fraps'd when Rebuke was DGing the constructs in, yet you said it was a hunter using distracting.

I watched your videos have have really only few comments:

1) Your combat text seems over the top and is in the way of trying to see what's going on.

2) There were a few times in your voice over it felt that you were trying to fill in space so you don't have dead air... IE didn't quit know what to say. Maybe during these times you could fast-forward the movie if it's just a simple part of the fight or cut out certain parts of the fight.

3) You gave a good overview of the fight at the start of the video... but I suggest you show those right before the phase you talk about. ie phase one then show that phase. Then phase two show that phase etc... <-- lol u did this for ignis!

Good job man - i know these things can be time consuming...

Rusted ty for the comments, I will try to stop "uh'ing," "basically'ing," and "you know'ing." and just ff that shit. Auriaya is uploading right now to youtube and filefront so this is going to have my excessive and annoying combat text as well, plus fights I recorded last night will, but they are all pretty easy. When we get to shit like General, freya, and yogg, I will tone down my combat text (or just move it the fuck out of the way). Thanks for the advice!

EDIT: Scratch that...going to redo the voice-over on Auriaya to minimize my um'ing and I also fucked up and said "the only other ability is..." and then like 3 mins later another ability comes up and I go "the only other ability is..." so I basically contradict myself. Will fix and upload tomorrow (roommate in the room and the tv will be in the background..douche).

Are you writing your description before you record it? Might sound better if you read it then just saying it off the top of your head. May also help you eliminate the natural umm complex we humans tend to have.

If you're already doing this then I'll just go draft the papers for vex to sue you.

Oh btw...if you all watch on youtube, be sure to rank that shit...the more ranks it gets, the more relevant it is, and the more views it will get (which means the more spotlight we get on the guild). do it.
